she had seen him. it might have been for but a brief moment- but she had seen him. and now, she had no idea where he was. she didn't actually know where she was either, as she had just made her return to the still somewhat familiar land. but she was determined to find him. only, there was no place in particular for her to start looking. she could have gone back to where they had first spotted one another, but the chances of him being there still were next to none. and beside- the sweltering sun that loomed overhead was more than a tad uncomfortable. with her slender jaws parted, her tongue lolled out the side as she panted while continuing on the path before her. her nose told her there was water ahead, as did the deep rumble she felt beneath her paws. anything to rid herself of this heat.
when the falls finally came into sight, it was more than a relief for the cinnamon and honey toned girl; her bright, intoxicating citrine gaze sweeping all around the area before her. it was deserted, and that suited her just fine. making her leisure way toward the lovely cascade of water, ren found her mind once more returning to that mystery boy. she had not caught his name. she knew nothing about him. and yet there was that pull- that deep, alluring sense of belonging she had felt. never in her life had she even considered such a thing, and it bewildered her. she had never heard of an imprint, or imprinting. the whole finding your other half business. and she probably wouldn't, unless he decided to explain to her. which, of course, would entail ever seeing him again- which she was unsure if she ever would.
shaking her multi-toned skull lightly to herself in amusement, she gave a gentle sigh as she finally felt the gentle mist of the falls grace her thick fur. it felt lovely compared to the scorching sun above, and curiosity overcame her as she noted a hollow, resonating sound from just beyond the falls. making her way off to the slight right, she discovered that there was infact a slight indentation, something that could be considered a cave, just beyond the wall of water. deftly and gracefully, the smaller girl slipped behind the falls and just like that- the sun, and the world beyond vanished. inside, it was cool, dim, pleasant, and most of all- secluded. a girl could get used to this. for the first time in a long time, she took the time to relax, circling in place before resting her frame against the cool, smooth stone beneath her and curling up. laying her slender skull upon her front paws, she was content to allow her bright gaze to watch the water before it. it was soothing, lulling, and she knew not many, if any at all, would find her behind such a vast thing. it allowed her to relax more than she had in quite awhile, and she was content to let her mind wander once more- particularly on that mysterious boy she found her thoughts returning to again and again.
