May 26th, 2013, 6:30 AM. Large Black Cat standing on side of lake in Northbridge, MA. I'm about 60 feet away. I could gauge the size of this creature by the poor calico ferrel cat that was 12 feet up a tree scared out of it's mind next to the largest black feline I've ever seen. It had to be about 100 lbs. Stood well over two feet high. At first thought I was seeing the largest Lynx in the world, but this guy was Black with a much larger head and a tail that was at least 2-3 feet long. I put my coffee down and started creeping through the brush in my flip flops. It ran away of course. I'm reading these catamounts eat coyotes. I saw a coyote the night before around 4AM in the exact same spot. My Grandpa spotted a black panther in northern NH many years ago and I was never sure if I believed him. NOW I DO. I'm still in shock. Feel like I saw a UFO. Replies:
