GUIDELINES

- the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
- anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
- adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
- the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
- the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors

She feels the snow before she sees it; sifting softly down from the sky to alight on her blueish coat in a series of gentle, frozen kisses. Snorting softly, Lilika's head jerks upright, her eyes settling first on Gnome, and then following his gaze heavenward to watch the snow fall. It thickens with each moment that passes, releasing downy flakes that swirl down to the earth in complicated patterns. Lilika is captivated, staring upward with her lips slightly parted and the glimmer of a child's naked wonder in her eyes. She has never appreciated the beauty of nature before, has learned to take such things for granted in her life of captivity. In freedom, even experiences to which she has long become accustomed are new, and sights that have already been seen are viewed through fresh eyes. Standing beneath the wide, open sky with her beloved and a light dusting of snow covering her coat like ash, Lilika begins to grasp that her arrival here was more than a new chapter in her life.

It was a rebirth; a renewal. Like the hands of time have begun to turn backwards, years have fallen from Lilika in the brief time she has been here, transforming the morose young mare back into the lively little filly who had first befriended the boy with the blanket. Even the brief sorrow that had shadowed her eyes at the scent of another woman clinging to Gnome no longer darkens her bright demeanor; whatever he might feel for the unknown girl, Lilika cannot doubt his devotion to her.

Despite the decided chill in the air, warmth enfolds the roan mare as she turns to face him once again, her dark eyes twinkling with the same spark of energy. With a soft chuckle, she notes that the blanket that cloaks Gnome's hindquarters has grown; determined to emerge victorious over the russet of his coat, the ivory snow settles on his back. Stretching to remove the light dusting from his withers with a caress of her dark muzzle, a smile curves the corners of her lips upward at the stallion's suggestion. If it was a game he wanted.... with an abrupt squeal, she nips his neck and then dances deftly away, glancing back with a come-and-get-me expression. "Oh, I'll run - but will you be able to keep up?" Lilika teases as her limbs extend to their fullest, to grant her flight. It has been far too long since she has run for the simple joy of running. As light as her heart is in this moment, it seems her hooves barely skim the ground as she races beneath the endless sky.
