Not The Last Goodbye

Nimbus

Nimbus finally divided the two for a moment and found himself lacking the will to tell Amour what he had wanted. In these situations is it best to work your way into it or to say it all at once. Nimbus knew what was best for him, but knew he might hurt Amour. He spoke trying to manipulate his words so that they'd seem half kind. "I cannot give you everything that I promised." This was especially difficult for him to say because he liked to think that his word was trustworthy. "A position as my subordinate would be difficult and brutal and I do not wish that for you." He said staring towards the sea not wanting to see Amour's reaction. How could he make it better. "You are welcome to stay though, until I find someone that can handle all of my many moods. Three stallions and there mares may be more than this sandy land can handle."

Nimbus felt the need to run. To run into the expanse of water and swim away from this conversation. Swim away before Amour could look at him with sad eyes and make him regret what he had said. He held his ground though, he had to tell him that he needed to get on his feet. "Kahawa is getting older, and she will find someone to provide for her. Whether it is me or some other stallion, you won't be able to stay with her forever." Nimbus was now looking at the clouds, the sky, the dunes, and the sand beneath his feet: anywhere but at Amour. "You will need to find a home outside of here soon, but you are always welcome. Stay until you can find a territory or another friend, but I cannot support you beyond that." Nimbus snapped. He shot one glance at the red roan and bolted to the water. "I need to go." Was all he shouted as a farewell.

It was difficult for him not to hurt his friends, but it was inevitable when he could not alway be who he was when he met them. The salty water flew in all directions when he hit it. It found its way into his mouth and drenched his coat. Nimbus thought as he paddled away, I hope that they will both be there when I get back... But it is up to them to decide if they can deal with my unpredictable behavior.
