From a summer's thread...

The gold yeti pinned her ears back as she quickly approached the scene at the shore. Winter had an impressive build for an older warmblood. Even in her malnourished state, her lean muscles were rigid and tensed up under her heavy gold winter coat with a glare on a bone white face. When the strange bay mare made contact with briar’s hide she let loose a squeal from lips pulled back to show long yellowed teeth snapping close to the mares face. Winter rounded on the trespasser pushing her shaggy coated frame between her herd mate and the pushy pony. “Don’t you dare touch her again.” Blue eyes glared menacingly. “Do you make it a habit of rudely bothering the locals in a territory you don’t live in?” the venom was practically dripping of the skull faced mares lips. She had never had cause to defend the members of her herd before but this little bay drew her hackles up and ears down. A cream tail flicked impatiently waiting for the cur to made a response before Winter got it into her head to run her and the colt back into the ocean.

Winter had been keeping a close watch on the bay mare as she had arrived in the territory, she had not approached as the thing had looked quite woe-be-gone and heavy with foal. She had just assumed she would give birth and make an appearance further in looking for stay until she could travel back. Winter had found it very disconcerting that she had not talked to one of the residence beforehand but had decided to let it slip and just keep an eye out. The gold mare kept Pan occupied with scouting the area around the inlet that her dam was not; to get her ready for when she hopefully took Winters place one day as the Alpha mare of sorts. Her blue eyes had been so intent on keeping track of the squatter she had missed most of what happened with Briar. The gold had only caught the last bit as it crossed her path. Wither had no idea who the young mare that left the colt with her sabino friend but they seemed to be very close. too much activity lately With so many mares arriving to the Inlet she had been having trouble keeping up with them all in her decayed state. As to why she had started sending her daughter out to do some of the work and keep an eye on the pale skinned mother of Liat who had finally come back.

Winter snapped her teeth and took a few steps towards the mare pushing her back farther from the black mare in the sand so she would have room to turn and give her and the colt a look over while being able to keep an eye on the invader. Her pink nosed softened to reach down and touch shoulders gently. “Is she coming back for him?”
