The Arctic she-wolf padded along the riverbank as her Ztehn companion swam in the water in her Mer-Creature form. Arodeth was simply exploring today, but she and Airendil would probably resume their work in the ganglands once they returned. Fortunately for the vampiress, she could venture under the hot summer sun with her Sunblock blessing; without it, she probably wouldn't have been able to travel as far. Currently, however, sunburns weren't the biggest of the lupine's concerns--and the mythical could see so on her face.

"What troubles you, my lady?" Airendil inquired with a tilt of her equine head. Her mistress frowned.
"How fair can one with bloodthirsty fangs be to one without?" Arodeth asked.
"...You...!"
"Love someone, yes."
"Whom?"
"You know of whom I speak, Airendil."
"...Oh, yes, yes, of course. But I doubt that a Fëanorian would be one to judge by appearance."
"What makes you so sure of such a notion?"
"I am not sure. But I, for one, don't see what difference your fangs make. ...Will you tell him soon?"
"I don't know."

With a sigh, the canine sat down and glanced at her warping reflection in Traydon River. As difficult as it was to make out in the rushing water, she could see where her vampiric fangs protruded from her lip. Airendil pulled herself out of the river, leaving just her tail submerged.

At least you have a better chance of finding a mate than I do, she told the wolf telepathically.
"How do you know?"
How many Ztehns have you seen on Wolf Mountain?
"...Point taken."

The she-wolf's red eyes stared intently at the river for a few moments before she swiped a paw through the water, catching a fish in the process. As she pierced its slippery flesh to consume its blood, Airendil began grazing on a patch of grass next to the duchess. If he were to choose a mate soon, you would be his only option. After all, you're the only female of royal blood not closely related to him, the mythical explained.
"'Tis true, but what if he doesn't yet seek a mate?"
Don't fret so much about it! You are still young. Patience is all you need. Airendil dragged the rest of herself out of the river to bask in the sun. Arodeth, saying nothing, proceeded to nibble on the fish meat, pondering Airendil's words.
