"a person dosen't have to be perfect,
to be exactly what you need"
Everything seemed to have happened so fast. One mintue she was staring down the lagoon king, and then out of the blue he focused his attention on Rhaeger, intent on chasing the poor stallion away from mother and son, but that is not the surprise moment. Once both stallions were gone from sight, but could still be heard crashing through the trees another horse came in, this time a mare. Her name was Mouse, and she had come from the peak. She stole Neassa away from the dreadful place, freeing her and Snow. All that happened within the hour. The fact anyone other than her stallion or his brother would come rescue her shocked her. Neassa never made friends, and rarely traveled the islands enough to have someone want to do such a thing. Shrugging her shoulders, she guessed it was simply the Peak women's way.

They had left the peak shores under the cover of night, fearing that any of the lagoon brutes would soon be after them. Neassa would have rushed quickly home but Snow needed her attention more now and so they had slept near the women who had rescued them. A few words exchanged here and there, and the roan was on her way. They arrived on the shores of Tinuvel when the sun was just beginning to rise in the horizan. Snow, though cold and shaking from his first swim, eyed the new lands before him with mild interest. This place was different from the swamp he was born into. Looking upwards, he eyes his mother, who's face was also turned upwards, but she was busy taking in the morning breeze and the scents that came with it to notice the curious look on his face. Snow did not like the fact he was being ignored. Pushing his nose into her shoulder quite roughly, his throat releases a very protesting squeal.

To many smells had tickled the mares nose and with a heavy sigh, neassa turns to her neglected son, lipping softly at his tufts of mane. Your probably wondering why she isn't rushing home so quickly, but after being through so much she wasn't exactly ready to face the herd, or solgar for that matter. She wished to rest and let her son get used to his surroundings. Nudging Snow slightly, she directs him to move forward before she too starts walking, into the trees and toward the clearing where everyone would be. As she paced herself to match SNow's own small strides, she can't help but wonder what all had changed since she'd been gone. Surely nothing had, but Yoren was fresh in her mind. He was her thrid born, and the one she had really spent the most time with. He would have been hit hard by her departure, but hopefully the boy was still around waiting for her. He was at the age to be leaving home soon, and Neassa hoped she had not missed it.

With all her pondering, she hadn't realized they had reached the heart of her home until Snow let out an excited squeal, his eyes finding the faraway bodies of the herd. Neassa froze in shock, and just as quickly as she came in, she shoves her poor colt to the side, behind the few trees that were there and follows after him. His lips seem to quiver and she knows he is about to wail in protest, but with a little cooing and nuzzling him, the boy quiets. Peeking back around the trees she tries to find Solgar, but has no luck. Sighing, she then allows her legs to fold under her and leans against a tree. Snow, letting his own exhaustion take hold for a moment, also lays, tucked into his mothers side. The boy is soon asleep, his black sides slowly rising and falling as his head falls to one of her legs.

Neassa looks down at her dark bundle, a small smile playing on her mouth as she leans down to nip at the tiny star on his head. It felt good to actually spend time with Snow since his birth. Stretching her neck out, she lays her head on the firm grassy ground, letting her own eyes close. It felt good to be home, and soon it wil be even better when they reuinte with their loved ones. For now, the mother and son rest in peace.
