aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Hellene’s grin widened as Leila turned and smiled at her, her plume thumping against the hard earth. Aw, well done Hellene! You’ll be great for them both. Guess I’ll be that awesome family friend who teaches them all the tricks of the trade – right? And uh yeah, thanks by the way. A laugh released itself from Hellene’s chest. “Yea… I was hoping you would offer that. As I told you I can fish, but as for hunting… I’m sorta lousy at it. If you hadn’t noticed, I have difficulty at keeping quiet and I’m clumsy… I tend to scare the prey off. I don’t want them to learn how to hunt from me. So I was wondering if you would be their honorary aunt and teach them the things that I just can’t. Or rather, can’t teach them WELL.” Hellene sighed – though she should be grateful that her flaws were only minor hindrances in the life of a wolf, it made pack hunts interesting. Leila’s voice brought up fishing once more and Hellene smiled, her stomach grumbling in hunger when the eboness brought it up. Hey! What happened to our training session with the fishes? Or is that no longer on? Maybe I could teach you how to be silent when sneaking up on a wolf.

Hellene snorted, nudging Leila with one of her paws. “Of course our fishing session is still going to happen! We could go now if you wanted… or we could wait until later if you are too tired.” Hellene winked at her friend, poking fun. “Just let me know when you want to go. And where you want to go. Lake, stream, etc. Each body of water had different fish and different problems and benefits. As for my sneakiness… I think that would be a hopeless venture. I’m too clumsy and I think you would be hard pressed to increase my stealth. But you are welcome to give it a try!” Once more her stomach grumbled, and Hellene hoped that Leila would want to go fishing soon so she could fill her stomach with the slimy morsel.

Well done on impressing Kal by the way and helping the pup, how do you know all that herb stuff? Hellene’s thoughts turned back to her past, to her family. Especially her mother. Her puphood had been normal enough, but she had not gotten along well with her father. He wanted her to be one of the hunters of the pack and, as stated beforehand, she just wasn’t a great hunter. So instead, she had spent most of her time with her mother. “My mother, actually. In my pack growing up, everyone had a singular role that they were responsible for. There were the warriors, the hunters, the healers… sort of similar to Abendrot. Generally, everyone took the role of their father. It didn’t work out for me. Athene fell right into the role as smooth as honey. But me? I followed in my mother’s footsteps. She taught me herblore, and then taught me how to fish in our free time, mostly for the benefits of their oils. ” Sheepishly, she looked away. For whatever reason, she always felt awkward when talking about her past. “I could teach you about some herbs too if you want…
