Devil at my Doorstep

He never intended to let his voice get so out of hand but just as well, it is all he needs to put Alacran down for the night like she is some kind of infant who needed a parent's minding. For awhile Arcus shifted between moving away from her but always looking back, worried for certain that Alacran may just roll right off the jutting rock which was barely held fast to the other rocks by tree roots of an old oak. The water was far down below them, crashing and thrashing against rocks as the wind picked up - the sky igniting quite suddenly with a streak of electricity, a quick metallic whip-crack sounding out before the whole bellow of the storm grumbled loudly from above. Arcus crouched over slightly, wincing at the deafening boom. His instincts were to turn and check on Alacran but he ignored them when he saw a black silhouette cresting the otherside of the grassy knoll. "Who is..."

He skipped forward a bit, his one ear perked forward and the half bitten off piece twitching slightly out of pain. It still hadn't healed, at least not in the way his shoulder had. The wind gave away her scent and he high footed it through the tall grass (he had no idea how to walk eloquently through something so tall especially with a ticklish belly) -- nearly tripping over an old tree root that had lifted from the soil some time ago. "Bl--EUGH!"--He came out of the rough stumble still standing, eyes slightly averting Bleu's in case she had seen him tripping. "Bleu..." He whuffed, reaching out to greet her with his cold muzzle. "Is everything okay? Come-come, I have to check on Alacran." Arcus bumped her nose fondly before turning , tail flicking in invite as he tried his best to once again.

"Al?" He called out -- no answer.

"Al!" He shouted -- a grumbling happened in response, but it was nothing he could make out.

"ALACRAN!" He bellowed -- in which a screaming reply was returned by Alacran at long last.

"SHUT UP YOU CRAZY OLD MAN -- I AM TRYING TO SLEEP." Then, in response, the thunder roared angrily right after her, the bolt of lightning cut through and scared Arcus into silence beside Bleu.

"How could anyone even sleep through this?" Arcus wondered quietly as he looked back to Bleu.
