sehrish
female, arabian, grey, Ee aa Gg, 14.2hh.
russell.
She had been unprepared for the arrival of autumn. Naturally, she had seen places where the leaves in the trees turned to gold and were reminiscent of the sands in her old home, but she had never expected that with the golden foliage came a bitter sort of cold. The others seemed to weather the cold well, but at night when the chill set in and the pale girl was forced to huddle close to her spotted friend and mate, she would tremble. Her skin was unused to this cold, and it would take some time before a thick, shaggy coat like those that covered the rest of her herdmates' skins would come in.

Though one could not say that Sehrish was miserable. Lonely, perhaps, with only Indian Hemp to keep her company, she had hoped to strike out on her own and meet the others, but they had become impossible to find. Some days, she would catch a fresh trail of a mare that had recently been through the trees, but it would become a ghost on the wind after a few paces. Sehrish was distraught at the idea that there were mares that seemed to be invisible, and had come to the conclusion that they must have been avoiding her. The desert mare was a sociable animal, and loved the company of others- she could not understand why she was being avoided when she had barely met anyone.

Until, that is, one day, shortly after she had a rather romantic tryst with her appaloosa knight, she spotted a pale woman through the trees.

The two of them stood out like ghosts in the forest, but the strange mare was buttery in colour, and so much more beautiful than average little Sehrish. Still, she was real and she did not seem to be avoiding the arabian, and thus she seized the opportunity. Ignorant of any rules that might had transpired between the lead stallion and her mate, she approaches the other woman from the right, poking her head through the trees and announcing herself with a loud snort, followed by a shrill nicker. She is excited, thrilled actually, to have found another living creature that was neither her best male companion or the illusive red stallion that occasionally popped up here and there, and looked like he should be avoided.

Hello!” Sehrish calls out in a jovial manner, bouncing forwards and reaching towards the mare with her grey nose before speaking up again. “I'm Sehrish- I thought you guys were avoiding me! I mean... not that you should... everyone just seems to be so... invisible...” Realizing that she's babbling, as she tends to do when she was excited and faced with strangers that could at some point be friends, she shakes her head and straightens up. “Sorry... I've just been so lonely... What's your name?
