aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.
In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.
You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.
"I'm Hell Demon."
His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.
"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."
His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.
"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."
It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

 I’ll try to remember. Hellene giggled with her friend as Leila watched her stride into the stream. After Hellene had given her spiel and caught the first fish of the day, she had insisted that Leila give fishing a try herself. Alright but if you laugh… I will get revenge. Hellene shuddered and gasped in false terror. “I shall do my best to resist any such urges…” Leila propelled her limbs into the water and took up the stance that Hellene had recently held. She did well and held herself frozen in the water for almost five minutes before a fish deigned to pass her way. Hellene watched her friend inhale deeply, her amber eyes watching the sudden moment of indecision that overtook Leila’s form. And then Hellene sighed and chuckled as her friend randomly struck at the water’s surface. The fin of the fish breached the surface momentarily with the slightest of scratches before it too swam away. Leila chased it blindly until she collapsed upon her forelimbs, her front legs and head getting completely soaked. But when she removed her head from the depths of the water, Hellene smiled, seeing the fish hanging limply from her friend’s maw. The ess removed herself from the stream and dropped the lifeless trout to the earth. I’m so graceful. Perhaps I should try a different tactic? Like the bait? Hellene smiled and laughed. “I probably should have gone a bit more into the perception thing… it is difficult to explain though because it depends on the position of the sun overhead. Basically, the fish will be just ahead of its projection in a line directly from the sun.” Hellene turned her paw off of her own fish and traced a circle in the earth. She put an X in the center. “Say this is you.” Next, she used a single claw to draw a small circle on the circle itself. “And that… that is the sun.” Finally, she drew a blob opposing both the X and the sun, so that the three points made a straight line. “This is the simplest of examples, with the sun directly behind you and the fish directly in front of you. In this case, the fish would actually lie here…” And her claw then drew another blob, once just outside of the circle. “It’s a hard concept but you will understand with enough practice. Although… I will admit that I like your way of doing things. It makes me feel graceful for once! But that is more of the hunting version of fishing! Fishing itself is a much more delicate task. But if you would like to try the bait version… How about we make it REALLY interesting. Get back in the water, my friend.” The timberess waited for her friend to get in the water before Hellene bit off the head of her own fish and tore little pieces of the trout, scattering it around Leila. “Wait here…I’ll chase a few more downstream!” She winked a single lid at Leila before taking off upstream rapidly. Hiding in the thick reeds, she watched silently as fish swam by. It was not until after a few minutes had gone by that a school of middle-sized trout passed her. She lunged out of her coverage and splashed, sending the fish toward Leila. “Here they come! Go crazy!” Hellene yelled to her friend and chased after the fish, her own paws swiping up two fish of her own. |
