aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

She couldn't breathe. In fact, she hadn't been able to breath for about a month and a half. Four weeks, ten days, three minutes. Make that four. She was disappearing. Every minute, her lungs contracted and her vision blurred. What she had done had been the worst decision she had ever made in her life. Kohaku had pushed away the one thing- the one person that could have made her THAT much more able to survive in the world of the living. But she had already made her choice and it had been the best one. Or so she kept telling herself. Kohaku knew that she could not match up to the competition that Llorana had posed for her. Kohaku knew that if she were to fight the woman, she would lose. So like the coward she was, the wise wolf had fled away from the danger. Away from the home she had chosen from herself, away from her pride and her honor, and away from HIM. Away from Nikandros. That was the worst part. She stopped after crossing the border into Aurora Borealis.

That mental clock kept ticking. But it was four and a half months ago that the angel had made a deal with the regal of these lands. She had gained a pass into the lands for a price and now she was the personal soldier, personal bodyguard and toy of Kalgalath. By contract she was bound to him. And she was not allowed to go free until she ha finished that of which she had agreed to. And she had delayed that freedom so that HE, of all others, could not find her. So that he could not follow her and pull her back to him. After all, she was still connected. The red fishing wire protruded from her chest and twirled out into the distance. Where it ended, was where her red organ, covered in blood, was. In the grasp of the blood and soot prince. Every time he tugged, she felt herself gasp for breath. She was trying to breathe while her lifeline was still connected to his own. Shit.

Now that she was into the territory, she began looking for the one person who understood what position she was in. After all, she had told him her story inside and out. Everything that had been locked away had been given to Kalgalath. He knew and he could give her her directions on what she needed to do. But that wouldn't really work if she was discovered by some sort of disgruntled pack member first. What would they do to the assumed intruder that had made it so far within their borders? Kohaku, as usual, did not worry about this. She, as she always had, could fend for herself against any brute. That is... So long as it wasn't a foolish prince...
