aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Loyalty means nothing unless it has at its heart the absolute principle of self-sacrifice

Already his long limbs were carrying him toward the border. When they had met in the woods on neutral territory, she had broken down, pouring her heart out to him, and given the recent set of events, her story had crept into his heart and pulled his strings, and he had offered her a way out. Become his apprentice, become part of his pack. Malignant Felicity did not nor would it have an alliance with Aurora Borealis, and therefore having her live in his terra should keep her away from the prince. The problem was that he had not known that she would manage to sneak away from him so quickly, and so Kalgalath had made a mistake - he had not alerted the pack. Thus, when he had inhaled Kohaku's scent, he had smiled, but that smile had turned to a grim, thin line when Chenzii's urgent howl ripped through the brisk air. Winter was coming, surely. A shiver trembled his muscles, not only from the cold, but also because he had hoped to reach Ko before any of his pack members. At least Zig had not come upon her before he arrived. That would have caused some real problems.

His pace quickened, hastening his step, when suddenly another stench crossed his nares, immediately raising his hackles instinctually. Not only was it not a stench of his pack, but it was of Malignant. They had followed her. Limbs stretched out, lengthening their pace until he was full long galloping through his terra blindly, not needing his eyes to guide his direction. Even should he become blinded, he would be able to navigate these lands with ease. And then the trio came into his sight. Chenzii stood directly in Kohaku's way, and a growl escaped from her. Why have you entered these lands alone? State your business now before you get yourself hurt here Had the circumstances been different, a slight smile may have crossed his maw. Chenzii had certainly stepped up to the plate since she had been given a rank in the pack, and it seemed to have given her more strength and a more commanding presence. But now was not a time for smiles.

For suddenly between Ko and Chenzii is a large russeted black brute, and his own vocals are pointed at Chenzii, his words a snarl of warning. You treat all your guests like this? I guess your alpha never taught you manners. Leave her alone. A surge of rage ran through Kalgalath's veins like wild fire. How dare the prince of Malignant Felicity cross his border's without an invitation! Did he have a death wish? The mottled grey and white titan ran right up to the stranger brute, his limbs stiff, his hackles raised, a growl tumbling out of his chest and between his clenched jaws. He halted firmly so that he came between the brute and Chenzii and he gave her a look, telling her to keep her distance from the stranger. His eyes fell on the fae who now was located behind the brute. He would address her in a hot second, but first to take care of the insolent prince, whose tail is curled over his dorsal. Kalgalath's form is erect and such rage emanates from his body that he can feel the heat rising from his pelt. His rumbling vocals quickly raised in intensity until his actual voice escaped. "You dare to cross MY boundaries and then spew warnings at MY pack!? You hold no power here, prince of Malignant Felicity, and are unwelcome I suggest you tuck your tail and remove your paws from the earth of my lands before I rip your throat out and drag your lifeless body back to your mother!" His deep vocals sound like a deafening roar as his icy cold arctics stare down the brute.

Should the prince not yield, Kalgalath would attack the younger wolf, no doubt with Chenzii's aid. He let loose a sharp howl, announcing the stranger to the rest of his pack before letting his words escape once more. "Kohaku, come to my side." Briefly his gaze has shifted to the fae and he urges her to come to him in order to make a single point very clear. "She is mine, and is no longer any of your concern." Poison drips from each word, daring the prince to challenge him. His thoughts drift to Chenzii, knowing that she would be confused, but that she would trust him. All would be explained in due time. For the moment though, his main concern was getting this arrogant dog out of his terra.
