aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

It was close to sunset, the fire ready to set fire to the clouds in angry protest. The vixen was in her pack lands enjoying the rest of the afternoon light. It was late in the day, and the vixen just finished licking the remains of a rabbit off of her paws, her tongue sliding in between the gaps in her paws. The light leaked through the holes in the leaves and shadowed the dark vixen’s face further; the days seemed to be getting longer to her and the more they came, the more alone she would become. Magic didn’t have a lot of wolf friends in her time; a lot of acquaintances, but she really never had one conversation that stopped then ended and then started again. Magic just didn’t know what was happening, concerned with meeting new wolves to try and find the best friend she dreamed for; it didn’t seem like it was coming soon, however.

The ess started gnawing a bone when she heard a thundering roar through the air. It wasn’t a howl just yet, but vocals that enveloped a lot of anger in them. The vixen could tell without even a second thought that it was her alpha, Kalgalath. She jumped up quickly, testing her hearing before she made another move. A howl burst into the air, calling for other pack members to join their leader, and the vixen wanted to make it clear that she would be the first to arrive; she had been absent as of late, and her delta rank might now keep. She started at a fast trot through the brush, her paws leaving footprints in the dirt as her eyes and ears moved in different directions. Anger started to boil into her mind and up her bones. She had never seen Kalgalath angry before. Stressed, quite yes, and other emotions clearly, but she didn’t believe that she had ever seen her leader in rage. This made Magic angry, and the heat inside of her started to burn to the top of her skin. Her amber gaze almost set the trees on fire, and she jumped a river without her mind registering it being there. She needed to get to the clearing as fast as possible, in case blood decided to spill and soak the grass.

A tree branch caught her pelt and snagged her out of the moment, her pupils dilating as she pried through the thorns to get her fur out. She turned her head and a small clearing near the north side of Aurora was shone, and she could see her leader’s hackles raised. She just caught the end of his last sentence. “ "Kohaku, come to my side. She is mine, and is no longer any of your concern." Magic slid through the trees silently, seeing that Chenzii already arrived and Kohaku, a name her thought she heard of before. The other male in the clearing, however, was new to the female. She eyes him loosely, anger burning to the tips of her ears. She stood next to Kalgalath, not taking her eyes off of the male. “Kalgalath.” The word came out salty to say the least, but by no means was it directed to her friend. Magic’s tail lashed behind her and a low growl began to rumble in the pit of her stomach. With her hackles raised, the slightest bit of movement would send her over the edge.
