We accept the love we think we Deserve.[Hemp/Birth]

Chianti
Somewhere deep down, Chi knew this pregnancy would be different. Her belly was much rounder than it was when she had carried Indy. Perhaps this foal was bigger. The child's sister was a petite thing with long leg's, so Indy had been easy. Good thing Chi wasn't as fragile as some would think with her sweetheart looks and loving personlity. The painted mare was strong.

After leaving Indy in the care of her father, Chi went to wander, but not far off where she couldn't hear her stallion or daughter. She just liked to have some space to herself to ponder and think, but there was another reason for her leaving again. As she had been walking away, ripples of pain coursed through her body, almost bringing her to her knees which had Indy looking after her Dam with a worried look. Not wanting to trouble either of them, Chi tossed her filly a small smile which eased the girl's worries and had her going back to playing with her father.

Chi ventured deeper into the woods, glad for the fact the snow was melting away. She moves herself back to the little grove where both mother and daughter slept, the one she'd shown Hemp a while back ago. Grass was sprouting, and without having to worry of freezing from the snow, she gladly lays herself down. Stretching out, her teeth clench at the coming contractions, one after the other it seemed. It was clear the foal was not one to wait. It had been a hard winter for Chi, with trying to eat for two, so this birthing was hard as she was not at her normal weight. The quiet forest was filled with sounds of her painful whimpers, and the grinding of her teeth.
--------
The morning rolled into the start of the afternoon. The forest was quiet once more despite the birds chirping among the trees. The long birth had dealt a heavy blow on Chi, who was trying to catch her breath. She'd already leaned over to lick the afterbirth from her son's nose and body, but she felt as if she could do no more. The colt was tucked against her belly, eyes curiously taking in the world around him. He seemed to be in better shape than his mother.

Casting a long look towards the colt, Chi tries to raise her head, but fails to do so. She was exhausted. The stream was not to far was it? Lifting her chin a bit, towards the way she came, she lets out a single call. Her voice was weak and all she wanted to was sleep. "Please come Hemp," she whispers as her pale face lays back on the ground. The boy tilts his head at his mother's voice, and then gives his own squeak of noise. It was his first sound, which bring s a smile out of Chi despite everything.
