Peace isn’t a permanent state. It exists in moments

ONLY DEATH AND LOVE CHANGE ALL THINGS

She could feel his presence here more then she’d ever been able too before.

The warmth of Apollo gently soaked into her bones slowly reviving the small bit of life that Sylvia held so desperately onto. The longer she stood with the oceans white foal surrounding her ankles and the warm sand beneath her the more rejuvenated she felt. Coming back to this beautiful place that she had called home for so many years was just the medication she was longing for. Sylvia didn’t feel listless here or barely breathing. She for the first time in a long time felt as though she could actually breath and that; was absolutely amazing.

Her home was abandoned now; it felt lost and forgotten.

Despite how sad the reality of that was Sylvia was relived because it gave her time.time to stand up time to grow up, time to say goodbye. Midas would always have her heart and he would forever be her one and only. The love for him lived on inside her and their daughter even though he was gone. Sylvia still was uncertain if he left to another place to live or if he passed away in the waves that dreadful day she watched him take off into the water but she had to stop torturing herself with the thoughts of what was and what could have been.

He was gone and was not returning, ever.

Being unsure of how she felt about her new reality Sylvia moved forward and instead of going back into the waves and heading back to the inlet where fundamental was Sylvia instead followed the shoreline. Sooner or later she surely would run out of shoreline in which case she’d be forced to go into the sea but for now she just wanted to continue on her journey. Being back in the harbor for the last month or so really helped her emotionally and truth be told Sylvia wasn’t in any rush to return to the cold.

The inlet was doomed frozen no matter what season it was.

Thinking of it made her want to return that much less and so as she strode along the sandy beaches she soaked up every bit of home she possibly could. Sylvia got so comfortable and lost in her thoughts she hadn’t realized that with the distance she had traveled that the scenery around her had changed from the soft apple trees to naked warm palm trees. The sun was sitting heavy in the horizon promising a beautiful sunset bursting with fruitful bright pink and orange hues that marked the territory’s boundaries in the hazy sky.

This place was like a dream.

Warm salty air engulfed her lungs and a gentle breeze played with loose strands whishing them around playfully. Casually her long tendrils wrapped themselves around her hind ankles as Sylvia paused in the waves as they raced passed her. Next to her was clusters by the dozens of palm trees and beyond that was long seaweed like grass in spurts with a trail of sand in-between. Looking beyond that Sylvia could see the beach disappearing and being replaced by a valley of rich green grass and with a blanket of clovers. The sight itself made her stop in her tracks and just stare completely taken back.

How had she not known palm tree paradise existed right next to her longtime home all this time?
