Dr. McCollough is still hanging on to the myth that there is/was an "eastern cougar" subspecies. Evidence and common sense have indicated that there really was never any such subspecies. As the petition indicates, the only way you could ever confirm that to begin with would be post mortem, which is useless. The Eastern Cougar subspecies label was tacked on in the mid 1800's, when they really didn't have any technology to even determine that to begin with.
