Wynne had not made it far when the sound of hooves upon the ground made her ears tilt back and her head cock to the side so that a blue eye could roll back to get a glance of the tan and black man. The feel of his warm muzzle upon her hip did nothing to her, not even a flick of an ear as she faced her destination head on once again. The soul need to find her daughter was the only thought that processed through the mother’s mind until the feel of his teeth nipping at her heels. Tilting her weight back to come to a nearly sliding stop, the mare tossed her head and pinned her ears to show her aggravation. Her thick black mane slapped against her neck and she gave a sharp snap of her tail from one grey side to the other.
“Help me find Ash and then I will follow you.”
He may not speak but Wynne did not think him dumb. Surely he would understand her and if he did then she would freely follow him wherever he wished to lead her. Or in his case most of the time; drive her. But until then the heavy mare would refuse his demands as she was not scared of him with her withers just taller than his and her build just as heavy. The man could not throw his weight around with her as she would throw it right back.
Having thought she had spent enough time and words to explain to the stallion, Wynne turned away from him and continued on in her search. The dark filly could not be too far, how easy was it to travel without sight to guide her? Yet the mare did wonder if it was best to let the Forest care for the girl now and to follow the beast into the salty water, allowing Ash an escape to a better life should she make it without the care of her dam.
