How's about a taste of something special?

Latte had been through enough herself. One cannot say that she's had an easy life. It hadn't been as harsh as some perhaps but it was nothing simple. It had never been a walk in the park one could guess. No, she's had those up and down moments as anyone might. Perhaps more than others at times. She had gotten through them though and maybe they made her a little stronger each time. One would never guess that looking at her, she's been through hell and back again. No, they wouldn't be able to see that at all. She puts on a strong sense of being. She's bold and she's full of life still. There's almost an unbreakable spirit to the gold and white mare. This palomino sabino was one strong lady and no one would be able to tell her any different.

There are moments when she wishes that her winter coat was thicker. Being mainly Arabian in a sense, she didn't have that thick; fuzzy coat that others might. She had a little shaggy to her but it was different so to say. This is why she shivers and it is worse if she's gotten wet. Her body aches from the cold but she had shaken off most of the water that had plagued her only moments ago. Yes, the chill could be unforgiving but it is something that this mare's grown accustomed to. She'd been born in a warmer climate but she'd seen her share of warmth and of cold. When you lived on islands that is, they were sometimes unforgiving. This land is no different than some others though perhaps, not as cold as a couple of them could be. It is chillier by the water but it is tolerable. She'll grow used to it as she always does with a little time.

Like the seal brown creature that called this home, she was amused with the liquid blue. Any form of it though; the sea was mesmerizing. Perhaps because she'd grown up near the water and been around it all her life. The sea too could be unforgiving but she loved it. She could hear its beckoning call and sometimes when it was warmer, she answered it. She swam within it and let the water coarse over her. This wasn't a luxury she's given in the winter months though and she is left only to watch it from a little distance. That was alright though and at least she had this. Like him; she could stare for hours upon the ocean's tides.

It isn't long before the seal brown stallion has found his way down the shore and toward her. Brilliant blue eyes study him curiously as she watched his approach. Ears twitched a little and the pale; splashed white mare finds herself intrigued by him. He seems to be studying her for a couple of moments before realizing that she was feminine. Her own nostrils flare to gather his scent. She's stored it to memory already and those eyes falter not off him as he slows his pace to a walk. There's a moment when he has stopped finally and she lifts her nose a little. Nostrils still flaring as his eyes wander over her. No, there was no injury and she's a specimen of perfect health. A little cold but definitely not sickly.

She watches as he's dropped to a knee and this is odd to the painted creature. She tilts her nose a tad at this peculiar sight that she's never seen before. What was he doing? Was this some weird form of greeting that she'd never been acquainted with? Latte takes it to be such for he didn't seem to mean ill toward her and she smiles in response to his own. He gives his name and inquires of her own with fancy words of pretty and doll toward her. She smirked a little here and gives a small laugh.

"Josh. I am Latte." She pauses a moment to gather her thoughts before continuing. "I would imagine that you are the Inlet's owner?" Yes, she knew the names of most of the lands that still remained among them. Many had gone to ruins with various disasters but those that remained; they seemed stable enough. Of this; the palomino sabino is rather grateful. "I have called the Islands my home for many a year since birth though; I have never truly found a place to settle." Maybe now though; that could change. One could hope yes?
