It was immediately apparent that his companions had noticed his attitude, but he felt little guilt. In his mind, they would likely feel similarly if given the task of taking younger wolves to play when they were nearly adults. Not that he disliked the young, but many at this stage of life strove to distance themselves from everything childlike, including what was essentially supposed to be a play date. Of course, his assumptions could have been totally wrong, but it never crossed his mind that these young wolves would feel differently from how he felt.
Still, when he saw their skepticism he made a conscious effort to relax his body language, shifting his weight to one side as if he were lounging. It was a moment before any of the Glorall wolves spoke, and he spent a few fleeting seconds looking the trio over once more. They carried quite a bit of white, which was of course undesirable according to the Demon code. However, he did not necessarily believe they could not be trusted due to this. Furthermore, it seemed as though they were all reasonably even tempered, something that Zaqar personally valued. Boisterous youth were a bit tiresome.
When words were finally spoken, they came from the only one who carried any sort of darker coloring. Zaqar met his questioning gaze evenly, though a smirk appeared upon his lips at the other boy’s question. The girl, who he presumed was the earthy one’s sibling, and the other male stayed silent. When he was sure neither of the others had any questions burning their tongues, he responded.
“Stuck? I brought you here in an attempt to become acquainted with a few members of my neighboring pack.”
His voice was smooth, though it may not have been entirely convincing enough for the sharp minds. Contrary to what he originally had expected, these wolves did not seem dense. They would likely see through his words, but they would not get the truth from him, not this time. Andras had instructed him to lie if need be, and he would. They did not need the confirmation that this was something he was essentially forced to do; he was certain that they could gather it without him telling them.
“Truthfully, though, I was never fond of games in the traditional sense, so if you have any creative ideas of what we should do to know each other better, please say so.”
He paused for a moment, considering the fact that none of them had properly introduced themselves.
“I am Zaqar, by the way.”
