The warm winds that once filled the forest were soon replaced by much cooler ones; simply the start of what was to come as the days went by. Soon the leaves would change, as would most of the woods. Jabs looked forward to it, seeing as how this would be Remo's first winter. Pausing in his assessment of their home, his brown orbs looked over the growing shape of his son, who stood with his head leaning into his father's broad shoulder. The pair had left Cream to rest while they walked the territory line and looked for the other horses, as it was about time Jabs stopped moping around and got down to real leader business. Huffing through his dark nostrils, he blows a hefty breath into Remo's face, causing the boy to jerk back at the sudden warmness and twitch his ears curiously towards his Sire.

"What now?", came Remo's tentative voice, his small face turning upwards to fully meet jabs eyes. The draft really wasn't sure how to answer that. Leaning his face downwards, he runs his lips along the thin white line down the bay boy's face, affection clearly shown in the action.

"No daddy," he protests, wiggling away from Jab's side, and causing the bigger male to raise his head as laughter bubbles from his lips. "Oh come on, your mother can get all sweet on you but not me?," Jabs shakes his head, before moving from his place on the well worn trail and through the trees ahead of them where a stream ran through. He would most likely find other horses here coming for a drink,

Stepping closer to the water, he dips his head down to take a drink, ignoring the presence of Remo as the boy moved a bit further down to peer at his reflection, letting out a squeak when he spied himself and tripping over his hooves to fall into a heap on the rocky bank.

The boy had a lot to learn.
