Yesterday there was a Pension Board Committee meeting to go over Policies & Procedures.
Plan Attorney Mr. Klausner, has expressed that they need to be consolidated and that there are too many unnecessary ones.
I have advocated this since September 2011, When I started attending our Pension Meetings.
At this meeting,( I was unable to attend ) my sources tell me that it was discussed how the Pension Boards recording system is not working properly and has blanks in its recordings. It was voted that the committee would recommend to the full Board of Trustees to stop ALL recordings . Staff employee Tiffany Corey has been doing a great job of getting the minutes and the recording with this broken system.
In my opinion ALL Pension Board Meetings, including committee meetings, should be recorded. This would have a correct record of any thing that needs to be clarified as to what and by whom, what was said and done. Any False accusations could be refuted and this will keep all meetings Transparent.
If our Fund can spend over $100,000.00 ( one hundred thousand ) defending a Law Suit over erroneous trespassing of a retiree , I am sure our fund can afford a reliable recording system, to record an accurate accounting of the proceedings.
I record all the meetings I attend , with my own recorder, and it picks up every thing, even the soft spoken Trustee Fox. My recorder cost less than $125.00 ( one hundred twenty five ).
I hope the full Board of Trustee,s vote to obtain a reliable recording system and record ALL meetings.
