this city never sleeps at night; any

brother to jay

The pale stallion decided that he was not interested in the turquoise jungle as much anymore. Although the patterns that covered and fell across his pale coat made him feel less plain than he looked, the stallion wanted to explore and see what else there was at these Islands. Besides, he doubted his sister would ever be in the bachelor herd he was currently visiting. His sister was confident, and he always thought that she would become a bit headstrong when she grew up. If she was at the Islands, or if she had stayed at these islands, he wondered how life had molded her.

The ocean splashed against the beach by the jungle, almost playing a lullaby for the pale stallion. Off to his right, he was able to spy a large mass of tree stretching out of the land and into the sky. Half looked as though they had no leaves, and the rest looked like pine. He trotted down the length of the sand, keeping his eye on the trees so far away in the distance. When the trees next to him started to thin out, he took another scan of the horizon. Quite father away from the islands of trees, he spied a white hell. Snow was all he could see, and it was early enough in the season where the meadow he had been at a day or two before had simply frosted over. His ears laid back into his mane, and he dived into the sea to head towards the trees. He would come back to the Lagoon, no doubt, but for now he was curious if he could poke around somewhere else.

The sun had sunk so far in the sky by the time Verdin arrived that it was clear he'd have to stay the night or risk swimming blindly through the night. Hopefully there would be no bay stallion that would chase him off again. The beach was full of soft grains of sand that the pale stallion's hooves sunk more so into than usual. He moved to more stable land and the trees, beginning to weave through the truck and plants. It was nice to get back somewhere he was more comfortable with, even if there was a scent of strange horses on the cold breeze.
