FROM THE OCEAN SHE RISES

When the buckskin declines their offer, Azazel does not seem all that bothered by her refusal yet pale stallion's ears flatten and he seems displeased. Jörmangandr can't help but wonder if her nordic accent and manner of speaking causes her to appear brusque when it really isn't her intention. Given their highly different accents, it's not unexpected for things to get lost in translation. Sometimes it seems her jokes fall flat like a bug under her hoof. Kinda of like at this moment.

The black mare is quick to try and cover for any offence they might have caused and seems embarrassed as she goes on to explain that Jörmungandr looked rather adorable. The buckskin chuckles at Azazel ' hasty apology and wonders if she is always like this or if it just the fear of accidentally offending a pregnant woman. "Well, that is the first time I have heard that" she laughs in response to being called adorable. At the same time Lyden offers Azazel comfort and Jörmungandr can't help but agree. Clearly her words seem to be something they are not as they certainly aren't being taken the way she intended. She shifts her weight in irritation, both at the foal moving and at being misunderstood.

For a brief moment, as she spots Lyden beginning to rise, she considers bitterly telling him not to get up on her account but the jibe evaporates before it was the chance to pass through her lips when he offers something of an explanation. She appreciates his concern and a tinge of guilt sprouts even if it is only because her joke was lost in translation. "I...." she begins to explain and possibly apologise but is cut off by Lyden whose words caused her to turn her head away with a snort. Fine, let him think she's stubborn. While technically true, she may not be as stubborn as he might think.

Choosing to push aside her irritation, she opts to go down the playful route once more. Perhaps lightening the mood would ease any tension that is beginning to niggle at them. Mistake. Her playful withholding of information garners a laugh out of Azazel but again seemed to fall flat with Lyden. Perhaps he is tiring of her already. If it were possible,  she'd have pouted at his rejection of her humour. "Do not be such a grouch" She teases with a sigh, bumping her muzzle against his shoulder, "I would not withhold the things that matter.". While her family matters greatly to her, now is not the time she wishes to speak about them. Is it really so imperative that the herd knows how she knows the forest so well? Her gaze flickers to Azazel, "Am I being unreasonable?". Though humour remains in her voice and the question is somewhat rhetorical, she has to wonder.
