THERE IS NO WHY.

Dark clouds rolled ominously in the sky and a flock of blackbirds in flight cawed in warning, their wings beating loudly above her. K1A1 patrolled diligently. She churned forward along the Inlet’s border with her nose tucked to her chest, her eyes wide, and her ears swiveling atop her head. With each heavy footfall she sent melted snow and mud slinging behind her, moving at a swift but steady pace. She was an army of one, fierce and unrelenting in her devotion to the task assigned. Dögun had instructed her to protect the Inlet and so this was what she must do.

She was a force to be reckoned with, that only fools would willingly choose to engage negatively. K1A1 had struck down fools like this without remorse. There was blood upon her dark, wide hooves from enemies slain in wars past. She remembered them all and mourned none.

Her mind does not wander as she trots ahead, she could not afford to be distracted with personal musings while she patrolled. Focus upon the task at hand was of utmost importance. As long as K1A1’s heart beat inside her cavernous chest, she would not accept failure as anything other than synonymous with death.
