Vesti
My God you are a bleeding heart. The Voice was getting angry. Vesti kept her composure though, focusing on Orhan. The Voice’s power always wained when she was in the company of others. So why did it both support and berate her when she tried. Vesti was certain she might actually be able to find company here - maybe of the more permanent sort.
She offered Orhan a smile.
“Thank you,” She said. “I would rather stay. Its been a long time since I’ve had a home.” She looked back up at the clouds. If there was a god that was compassionate in all this world, maybe just maybe she could see her boys again. Maybe she could find a home and the Voice would finally be quiet.
Fat chance. You’re stuck with me.
Vesti nodded.
“You and your mother make good company believe it or not,” Vesti offered. “Better than I had even with Badr on the Dunes.” The chestnut mare looked up as thunder rolled. She nodded and followed Orhan to the rock face. She looked at the stallion.
You really think they’ll take all of you?
Yes. So shut it. And for once, it did.
