Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

should I cool it, or should I blow?

__
mason;

Hooves clopping on wet stone alerted him to someone’s approach, but too late (perhaps because he had been away with the fairies): just as he turned his head to side-eye the individual, they were barging into him. Thankfully they did not fall on top of him, or hurt him in the slightest, but Mason squealed in surprise all the same, lurching to his feet as quickly as he could manage before spinning away to regard the other horse from a safe distance.

In the dim light of the heavily-overcast day, it took his eyes a moment to adjust and take in the detail of the dark stranger’s appearance. Immediately the first thing that stood out to him about her was her extra-round tummy, shaded by dapples in a thick winter coat so that it appeared all the larger; while he’d put on weight over the past few months, he could not hold a candle to that (thankfully). He was just about to ask this round stranger why she hadn’t apologized for nearly stepping on him when his gaze lifted to meet hers. Then recognition set in. Bewilderment, closely followed by delight, brightened his expression.

As if to apologize, the mare extended her soft muzzle to him, and Mason followed suit, returning the gesture without hesitation. “You’re all right, Nameless Girl,” he assured her, “Don’t worry about it. Say, it’s been a while – where you been all this time?” Stupidly, he waited for her to tell him. And because he could be blissfully ignorant when he wanted to, he made no remark about her newly-rotund figure (yet). At the very least, Mason knew it was not polite to comment on a lady’s weight the moment he saw her (and as far as he was concerned, it was just that: extra weight).
