Birch laughed as Flynn spoke of Mallos, shaking her head as she pictured children fearing the man. Not that Mallos couldn't be frightening - he was, after all, a god - but because the idea of him harming children was rather laughable. When they'd arrived, she'd thought to warn him that she would not aid him in harming a child, and Sperantia had corrected her thinking. Since then, Birch had learned much more about the god and knew him to be a protector, a patron, of children. As Flynn mentioned him turning horses into camels, she snorted with amusement.

"Why am I not shocked in the least to hear that?" she said with great amusement. Birch sensed in Flynn a subtle change, perhaps as he recalled the darker times he spoke of when Mallos was the bogie man. Birch hadn't been around in that time, but she'd heard enough now to know it was not a healthy, happy time for Shaman. Not that things were particularly easy now, either, with the ancient creature running amok, but at least... at least there was something to fight, a way to stand up to the darker forces. But Birch said nothing, only grinned and nodded at his suggestion.

"Quite a colorful group we'll have," Birch agreed with a laugh. "I'm sure Sol will be happy the boy's will be within begging range."

She grinned at that, having encountered firsthand the tiger's idea of "begging", which mostly entailed sitting extremely close, drooling, and staring at you with puppydog eyes. She knew Torram would be pleased with her initiative, and at the idea of making friends with more of Danny's family.

Conversation turned serious, but Birch couldn't help but smile at Flynn's comment. Though she'd not had the pleasure of meeting Castiel, it was still nice to hear that Flynn thought a good man like him would have approved of her. There was a time, not all that long ago in the grand scope of things, when Birch wouldn't have met anyone's standards. Torram's ancestor had helped her become better, become stronger, but it was not until she'd found Shaman that Birch had really flourished. There was something about this place that had wiggled down inside of her and bloomed. Perhaps it was the acceptance, the welcome, she'd received, but she felt like she belonged here. And, in her talks with Torram, it seemed her charge felt much the same.

"I wish I'd had the opportunity. Everyone speaks highly of him," she said honestly. She nodded in understanding as Flynn spoke of his sister, Henry's twin, and her worry. She knew well the torment one felt when their loved one was out of touch and out of reach. "I'll talk to the King as soon as I can, get his permission to visit the Cove undercover. We'll find him, I'm sure."
