FROM THE OCEAN SHE RISES

Her trip to the Bay had been as brief as she had planned and had set her mind only slightly more at ease. Zhenya had been as unconcerned as expected and Fantazer was okay...ish. As she swims through the gentle current of the tide that would normally clear her mind though, other worries begin to creep in. Were the herd okay in her short absense? Had Lyden noticed she wasn't around and how did he feel about it if he had? He'd had a few mares that went AWOL without informing him or the herd and she is loath to be one. She tells herself he will not mind a brief, less than 24 hour trip but they have both been temperamental lately and she can't be sure.

With each stroke of her legs through the ocean, the shoreline of the forest grows larger, beckoning her and Joukahainen home. The colt had had a good time meeting the bay's alpha stallion's filly and Jörmungandr realises perhaps he needs to get out more and meet more foals his age. Of course, Looking Glass is in the forest now so he is not totally alone, perhaps that will be enough to stimulate his need for socialisation outside of the adults.

A head bobbing in thw water ahead gives her little cause for concern until she realises the horse is headed for her home. She accelerates in the water, pushing harder and faster. Joukahainen protests at her side, lacking the stamina to keep up. She ignores him, practically dragging the boy as he hangs off her mane. She sees a draft drag itself on shore and limp into the trees - what is it with injured horses finding their way to her shore? Grinding her jaw in irritation and determination she pushes on and quickly finds herself on dry land. Joukahainen puffs behind her but she is already on the tail of the horse - a mare. Is this another one invited by Lyden?

When the stranger begins to move towards the herd, Jörmungandr's ears flick back and she picks up the pace. As she approaches from behind, she finally gets a glimpse of the mare and notices the laced back ears and wonders if the blanketed mare might plan to attack. Had she more time to think about it, she might have made the connection between the black blanketed stranger and her aunt Olaf had told her so much about.

She is pleased to hear Lyden intercept and picks up where he left off, "That is what I would like to know" She states from behind, but bears right to arc around to the mare's side rather than startling her from directly behind. She halts near but out of reach of Lyden to better block the path that leads to the herd. "What is your business in the forest?" She asks firmly though curiosity mingles into the hint of a nordic accent. Lyden obviously does not know who she is anymore than Jörmungandr does. That is not acceptable.
