why study history when you can live it?

those who do not learn from history
are doomed to repeat it
I was glad when the tension finally eased up. Xina was always so… rough. I didn’t know her as well as I should since we were herd mates. But I guess Sylvia was too now. Hey, I’m all for expanding our little group out here in Paradise! I smiled at Sylvia.

I did frown though when she swore she was no threat and such. Why would anyone jump to that conclusion? Sure, Xina was imposing - for being as short as she was - but no one in their right mind would actually accuse a pregnant mare of being anything other than pregnant right?

Ok, maybe accuse her of adultery and cast her out of the herd. But that had only happened once and not to me! At most, that’s it.

“Naw, ‘ake id easeh, suga,” I said softly. “Nu-un is accus’n ya of anehding.” I looked back at Xina. Besides, a mare couldn’t make promises. Xina comments on finding the rest of the group. I smile.

“Mera’s pro’leh some’are sheh can chase de waves,” I start off down the beach. “Conquistada is… prob’leh pretend’n da beh a palm sum’air. I was quite sure I was rambling, but hey, that’s what I do. Even in my head rambling is good for the soul. This was turning out to be a good day.

Now if only this kid would stop moving and get out of me.
