the stars move still (kasabian, any)

“the stars move still, time runs, the clock will strike”

Marlena shook the seawater from her creamy pelt, though it made little difference as the rain drizzled down, gentle yet persistent. The sky above was grey, the clouds heavy with moisture, but the air was thick and warm. It was slightly hotter here than on the Crossing and Luthien that she had become acclimatised to, and given her thick hair the rain was pleasantly refreshing.

She took a moment to gaze out across the sea, its tumultuous waves reflected in her bright blue eyes and a soft smile on her lips. She could get used to this.

With the salty droplets still running down her golden curves, Marlena turned and made her way along the shore, leaving giant hoof-prints in the damp sand behind her. She wasn’t entirely sure of the way, but when she spotted the rocky hills in the distance she could only assume that the Ridge lay that way and alter her course accordingly.

The journey up the incline was somewhat strenuous, but the sights were pretty even in the rain, especially with it being Marlena’s first time on Atlantis. Everything was exotic and intriguing compared to the tame landscape of Luthien and the Crossing. After much deliberation since their conversation a little while ago, she had decided to take Kasabian up on his offer as long as the Ridge seemed like a nice place – so far it was looking hopeful.

She paused when she reached the top of the hill to survey the horizon, squinting slightly against the rain. She thought that she could see horses in the distance. Slightly cautious, but not wanting to seem as if she was sneaking around, Marlena called out to see if she could get someone’s attention and find Kasabian.
