The distant crashing of waves against the rocky southern shore of Tinuvel caress his ebony tipped ears. A sound that soothed his soul, he found himself wandering the rocky shores, more often with each passing day. The stress of herd life was taking its toll on the grullo, but this was his home. As the pair of horses near the ocean, its huge expanse spreading out before them. Its massive size dwarfing them, their insignificance size thrown back into their faces. Russet eyes scan the horizon line, where the evening sun was beginning its descent to the ocean. Soon the sky would explode in the oranges and reds of the setting sun, washing the islands in its evening hues. Dögun was caught up in his own thoughts that he almost missed her words. She was a curious desert dweller, curious of how he had come to call the inlet his home.
Curious if she suspected that there was a drama filled story of him sweeping in, destroying and conquering the Inlet. A smile spreads across his dark lips at the thought, and he supposed that she would find that story as equally as entertaining. She did not find favor in his presence, each of her steps were stiff, her disdain in each word that she spoke to him. But he answers her question, even though she was truly uninterested in the words he would speak.
"I can see that you are a woman, who enjoys her blood and glory. But how I came to rule the Inlet is simple. I claimed it as my own." He knew that his answer would not satisfy her lust for blood, but it was the only story that he had. Perhaps on her journey she would find herself on an island where the stallion won his territory with a bloody fight to the end. But here in the Inlet she would find no such story.
