He was intrigued by how carefully Carisa watched his face as he spoke, and by the pause she took before replying (during which he could only assume she was deciding exactly what he had said). When finally she replied, her words her enigmatic. Orhan followed her gaze out to their surroundings and visually traced the delicate arcs of the shadowy dunes beyond. He parted his lips to enquire her meaning, but before he could the mare spoke again.
When he looked back to her, his dark eyes traced the features of her face just as they had done to the dunes a moment before, though still he had to look up in order to do so, given her advantage in height. "Yes," he said, bobbing his head. He considered elaborating, but figured that - with Carisa - being succint possibly made all the difference in being understood. Instead, he decided to return to his previous train of thought.
"What are you searching for?" He flicked his frosted tail gently to disperse a few flies, just as a faint smile began to touch his lips. He found it strange, but intriguing, that she was travelling in the middle of the night. She did not appear to be running away from anything, however, which made her motivation more unclear. Perhaps she is only being sensible and travelling at night because it is cooler... or maybe because it is safer for someone who cannot hear?
