It was summer, a hot season if you lived on any other island that was not Tinuvel. This island always held a bit more of a cooler climate, and it was not uncomfortable to be in when the hot times came around; it was refreshing. Soda had been happy to call this place her home, having been born to the Cove that resided here on Tinuvel. The palomino wished her daughter had been born here, but that didn't mean she couldn't show Alethi the beauty of the cold place, as well as showing it to her new baby sister, whom she took under her wing after both her parents fled the islands.
Thinking of the two girl's, Soda's brown orbs move from the waves that slowly roll up the beach, down the sand a ways where the two curious foals were investigating an odd creature; a crab it seemed when soda peered closer. Chuckling to herself, the draft girl moves towards them, stopping behind the smoky black rump of her sister Naomi. She leans over her little charges, holding her breath when Alethi decides to be brave and nudge at the creepy thing with the big claws. Big mistake.
The crab pinched at Alethi's delicate nostrils, causing the filly to squeal painfully and for Naomi to leap away and race off a few steps. Soda finally steps in after a good laughing fit, licking at the tender flesh on her daughter's nose. If no one knew they were here, they surely did now. Gosh her daughter had a set of lungs.
"Go play little ones, and please stay out of trouble," Soda croons, nudging Alethi toward Naomi. The palomino watches the red dun and smoky black shapes of the foals move farther down the beach, hopefully away from any crabs or things that would injure them.
She turns her eyes inland, awaiting to see who or what may have come to the sound of the foal's antics. Perhaps the stallion she'd met back at the falls would appear, remembering he had mentioned residing here.
