A pirate flag and
The Lost Islands

A pirate flag and an island girl

And I traded it in for a whole 'nother world
A pirate flag and an island girl

Tension fills the thick humid air of the Forest, almost choking the Perlino's breath from her chest. She could smell the distinct stench of the wolf infestation, each day they became bolder. She had caught a glimpse, a flash of fur in the shadows of the trees, lurking in the shadows. They were so patient, holding out until their prey was alone. Cae had been on the highest alert since the first scent drifted in on the breeze, taking extra precaution when she wandered the Forest alone. As the perlino cautiously steps through the underbrush, her nostrils quiver, testing the breeze with each step.

As her delicate nostrils quiver, an all to familiar metallic scent stings her nostrils. Her hooves begin to nervously dance beneath her body, side stepping, a snort is emitted from her nostrils. White-ringed eyes search, desperately, for the source. Her muscles quiver in their anxiety, quietly yet with a haste in her step, she moves through the forest. As the trees begin to thin and open up into a breath taking view of a hidden lake, she halts but her crystal blue gaze falls upon a pair of horses. One of them obscured from her sight, the other Gandy, yet Cae only halts for a brief moment before the sight of a bloody Lyden, sends her into a flurry of movement.

Hooves touch the lake shore, without hesitation she joins Gandy, and begins to circle the pair of horses. The cool lake water washes around her legs, splashing up onto her chest. One ears swivels towards Gandy and Lyden, listening for his reply about the severity of his wounds. As she circles the pair, she keeps her eyes trained on the shore line, half expecting a wolf to appear along the trees. Pushing the worry from her mind, she focuses back on Lyden. Dropping her head to eye level, she trains her attention on him, she offers a sweet smile. Trying desperately to ease the tension, she offers a joke, to hopefully take his mind away from the pain he was in. " Let me guess? You should see the other guy?"

Crystal eyes search his face, hoping that his he was not succumbing to the pain. As Cae eyes trail his body, a pang pinches her heart, as the blood turns the once clear water into a deep crimson. They would soon have to figure a way to stop the bleeding, perhaps mud and some leaves...and plenty of rest. She knew that it would be difficult for him to take a break but it was well deserved. She could make herself useful, patrolling a few borders, keeping her home safe. Wasn't that part of her responsibility?
