why study history when you can live it?

those who do not learn from history
are doomed to repeat it
I watched my boy do the right stuff. I nodded and he backed up a bit. Such a shy little critter. It almost makes me want to chuckle, but I don’t want to embarrass him to add to his shyness. Though, it might help him…

Nah. He’ll out grow it sometime soon.

Pilar starts talking and I turn to face her. I nod as she mentions Midas. Maybe he came back for Sylvia and Elliot? But then why are they still here and not off with him. I guess something happened. Maybe I should ask Sylvia about him. I mean, maybe she really needed to talk to someone. It’s gotta be hard to raise a kid of a man who just up and left.

“Nah, Ah ain’ ‘eard o’ any Dragun,” I said. “Bu’dare ain’ nu’n wrong wid a small ‘erd. Ah’ve alwehs been in dose. Doe… mah curren’ un is bedda dan da previous un.” I didn’t want to talk about Rurisk though. Not in front of Sokka. Not if I could help it. He was still too young and innocent.

“Bud, Mahd’s did leave behind a kid… mahbeh ‘e wuz look’n da fin’ dem?” I shrugged. “Ya can’ ‘ell wid boys sum’imes.” I smiled at her. I reached over and blew in Sokka’s mane. He jumped a bit and turned around to glare at me.

“Mamma!” He whined. He shook his head, his mane still fell differently. They were so cute at this age.
