a lover sinking in the sea

"Okay," she says softly, reaching out to give him a nudge on the cheek. "I just don't want you to make yourself sick is all. Too much stress can take a toll on your health." She tells him, pulling away. It would be a shame if Dogun were to worry himself sick. In order to prevent that from happening, she would share his burdens, and hope it helped.

The way he says her names sends a chill down her spine. She visibly shivers, her eyes glittering in the last remaining rays of sunlight. Night has just about fallen over the Inlet, the stars becoming visible in the sky as the last of the sun dips below the distant horizon. She offers him a gentle smile, then changes the subject, because although she enjoyed their tender moment, there were other matters to discuss. They could return to being lovey-dovey once more important things were sorted out properly. She clears her throat before speaking, and she can tell by the look on Dogun's face and how he visibly relaxes that he is glad she has spoken first. She doesn't blame him.

"Perhaps she had matters that she had to take care of...." Freya shrugs at Dogun's suggestion, but her lips are still turned downwards in a frown. "Perhaps," she says, "but it's been days. I worry about her, you know, and the others. I think she is bored here." She sighs, looking towards Dogun again. "I could tell right away when I met her that she is meant for fighting. She is fierce and strong and very independent. I fear she may be getting bored, just skulking around the Inlet all day and night. She needs more of a purpose than just a regular herd mare." Freya hated to be so... forward, but it was the truth, and if Dogun didn't realize it already, he needed to. "I hate to be so blunt, love, but I want to keep our family together. I do not want to see K1A1 up and leave because of our negligence." She looks directly into Dogun's eyes. They both had a role in the draft mare's unhappiness. They were not doing enough to suit her needs, the fault rested on their shoulders and no one else's. They needed to do everything they could do rectify the situation. She only hoped Dogun would be as willing as her to fix it.
