We'll ride in the gathering storm

As the storm brought down its wrath, flashes of lightning along with the deafening rumble of thunder, that shook the very stone walls around them. With each passing minute it seemed as if the storm lashed out harder against the mountain, as if trying to bring it down around them. Flicking dark tipped ears nervously, he listens carefully to the storm, he knew that the worst of it was being unleashed on the mountains peaks. The herd was buried deep within the dark pine forest, where the winds blew but not at the ferocity that they were now experiencing. If he had though that the herd was endanger, he would of never left their side, but Freya was more than capable in taking care of them in his absence. Plus he never thought that he would be trapped here in the cave, he planned on finding Sigrún and bringing her back to the pines for protection.

"No I will not be surprised, when they bring their wrath, but I will know who started it." A smile touches his dark lips. But her next words brought a bit of confusion. "I do not understand." Was it because he had left the herd to find her? "I insured that the herd was safe before I left them. They are in the pines, hidden away where they will be safe. The worst of the storm will not touch them, they may get a little wet. Plus, I did not plan on getting stuck on the mountain side." A sigh escaped his lips, but at-least he knew that she was safe as well. As the silence envelopes them again, he reaches over and touches her shoulder. Maybe someday she would warm up to him, but until that day he would not give up on trying to gain her trust.

"The view from up here must be amazing." He had not hardly ventured up this high, he usually clung to the lower trails, plus he did not like the thought of heights. She was a solitary mare who enjoyed her space, and food. Perhaps that is the other reason she hung around up in the far reaches of the Inlet.
