Well the same situation was present in Michigan. Same excuses from the state agencies, "they don't exist here", "a straggler from North Slobovia", etc. But a private group was persistent, driven by members that had seen them and didn't like being called nuts. Never was one hit and found on the road, fueling the excuse train that they weren't there. Took them quite a few years, but finally they scored after putting out a virtual flood of game cams. The hunters in the state had declared it impossible for cougars to be there, "we are all over we would have seen them", but they persisted and scored. Now the state acknowledges they are there, and has collected scat and identified over a dozen individuals. Where were they? Right where the hunters had been, and the sightings had been. Now they realize they are dealing with the most elusive animal on the planet. Its just a matter of time here. Replies: There have been no replies.
