The seasons were nearing a change, and I was nearing the half-way point in my pregnancy. I was large, but not as large as I had been when I was pregnant with Cypher, but then again, he had been a big boy, with an even bigger father. I was curious in my heart to know what my child with Lyden would look like, who he or she would take after. But what worried me the most was making sure I kept myself out of danger. I was not about to lose another child, not like I had lost Cypher. That was not a mistake I wanted to repeat in my life. Losing one child had been devastating enough, I would probably lose my mind if I lost another.

My large form moved easily, my swollen sides were already very visible. I had yet to leave the sanctuary of the forest since conceiving our child, but I ventured to the shore every day. Today I stopped, the waves lapping at the large muscles of my legs, above my knees. Every once in a while the waves would hit a bit harder, splashing against my chest as the water rushed in.

It was soothing to me, and our child seemed to agree, it’s movements would slow, calm down and become more welcome than pained. I turned my head back towards the herd, wondering where Lyden had been the past few days. It’d been quite lonely. Not that Lyden and I had gotten too close since my arrival here, of course, but that didn’t mean that I was a cold hearted wench who didn’t care about anyone. There was some sort of emotions unraveling in my chest, starting to grow into something more, at this point, I wasn’t sure what it was. I sighed, before I called out to Lyden. Hopefully he’d want to spend time with me. I was growing quite lonely here, and I didn’t want to become the large out of place one within the herd. Hopefully things would get better, Right?
