Of course CUA was curious about their child’s fate. Soljor was considering that too. His girls would be old enough soon. The yearling years… he had no idea what to expect. But he doubted he could keep them corralled for much longer. He spotted Stardust eyeing the ocean all too often for his taste. She had begun asking questions about the other islands, and what kinds of horses would live out there. He suspected Harlequin had gone a step further. He sighed, enjoying the feeling of CUA’s breath on his skin.

“I have been thinking over that very carefully,” He said. “I intend to find stallions for them. I want to place them where there are good men. Men who will be capable of defending them.” He looked at CUA. Should he inform her of his candidates. So far he had only two: Dogun and Magnus. The nice thing about placing with Magnus was that his daughter would never be too far. “I can at least give them the best start I can. Where life will take them afterwards… well, hopefully we would see it.” There wasn’t much to say about that. “I do have a few stallions I’m looking at right now. So far, neither has done anything to cause me worry.”

He smiled at her, seeing her barrel so swollen so early seemed strange. Maybe this foal would be more akin to his height and build. On the tiny arabian, it could be a bit tough. He reached over and lightly touched his nose to her stomach.

“I was… surprised you wanted to try this again,” Soljor said. “And no you don’t. I still want you to be careful. I would rather you didn’t… just disappear again.” Soljor’s dark eyes sought CUA’s. Regardless of their differences, he did care about her.
