The Gist . . .

The world of Alcryst is unique and vibrant, nature itself shifting around you in movement and hue and providing the roleplayer with stimulating muse--after all, it is not difficult to write when trees reach to grab you, the sky belches fire, and forests change color! We are not Earth; there is no time period restricting our society. We are both Greek and Roman, we are Renaissance and magical, we are alien and exotic. Horses and humans alike can be an elaborate masterpiece of abnormality, from multiple heads to cyan flesh, or look entirely normal. Even more than their physicality is their mentality: humans are freed from the moral restrictions caging us and horses are far from prey, rather deadly carnivores, a predator. Not to mention the dynamic between the two species, one of painful separation and chaotic joining.



Though we offer both horses and humans, there is no need to mix them. We are the first to allow you to completely immerse yourself in one species or delve into both with equal ease. Play solely a human, solely a horse, or blend the two together! We do not force you to partake in both species and thus can appeal to a wider member-base on either end of the enthusiast spectrum.



Our shop system is member-run and one-of-a-kind. There is no single method for trade but rather many varieties to choose from, all catering to anyone's capabilities. Use your art to design armor and weapons; utilize activity and writing skill to farm cattle and crops; sell your horses individually or auction-style; buy cheap tack and sell at a higher price to gain profit; build your dream house/castle, stable, or inn through the caravan's construction options; buy directly from the site store for detailed customization; or perhaps deal with the black market in our rustic village, Morrene, where anything goes! Many of our shop systems allow OOC or IC interaction and are primed for the clever user's advantage. It is a vastly interconnected system, every facet reliant on another and each individual crucial.



You will never be bored here. Even if no one is responding to your threads, we have a secret: IC Interactive Boards. Nearly every IC board on the site has an alternate function that offers some reward or, as the name implies, interaction. Don't know what to do? Why not sacrifice to the gods? Or go fishing! You could drink some Elixirs, clone yourself, come up with your very own IC contest in the Arena! The list is quite endless. We do not promote favoritism. There are no royal ranks on this site that lend an unfair superiority over other characters/members. Instead, our sense of accomplishment and standard for prestige is gained through hard work, effort, time, and devotion! You will find no magic King here that simply rules because they won an audition. What you will find is acceptance, encouragement, friendship, creativity, and a site pioneering a new frontier in roleplaying.
