. CHARITABLE ADVERTISING on Web Site
There are many worthwhile charitable causes in existence, but we can only accept sponsorship or fundraising efforts on Fusilier Association websites, that specifically support approved Fusilier charities.
This essentially means that it is acceptable to use these pages to seek sponsorship for The Fusiliers Aid Society (which includes Fallen Fusiliers), and The Fusilier Memorial fund only.
We now have our own dedicated justgiving site (http://www.justgiving.com/fusiliersaidsociety), which you can use to help raise money for your cause. If you let RHQ (Asst Regt Sec) know the specific cause you are raising money for, it will be directed to the correct fund.
Messages soliciting sponsorship for causes or charities other than the Fusilier ones mentioned above should not be placed on the message board and may be removed by the Webmaster.
Messages posted in the last 24 hrs. are in White.

my brothers name was Chris 'Lex' Barker. As he was known when in 2RRF.
I have a number of pics of his from his time in 2RRF. I myself served with the Royal Engineers.
Only earlier this week when attending my local Parachute Regiment Association meeting. I told them 2RRF beat the 'paras' in the Bad Lippspringe Rhine Army freefall competition in 1977. My brother was in that team and I have his winners plaque. Some of the paras didn't believe me. A couple who have seen the plaque were laughing, as the main guy who didn't believe was a former head of the RED FREDS.
Our Chris was a marksman, wore the parachute wings, and did several tours in Ulster in the 1970's. I think he was also a small arms weapons instructor.
He did apply for the SAS but was not selected. He did do the 'fan dance'.
I also know he was in the guard of honour for the Field Marshal Montgomery funeral with the Fusiliers section.
