Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

This Psych was strange, Léon decided. But he was fun. He was way funner than the other stallion he’d met. So, that was good. Though, he noticed the stallion twitch and frown just after having asked about his dad. That was weird. Had he said something wrong? Maybe it was nothing and the guy had problems with his own dad.

“My dad is Rade, the Boss… whatever that means,” Léon said. “No, actually it means he doesn’t have much time for anything other than not being around. Yeah. That’s what it means.” He snorted a bit angry. He’d always known that his parents were the loving type. They were all about teaching him this, teaching him that, telling him one then and then another. Honestly, he didn’t have much of a “bond” with either. “I don’t know if I’ve had much of a conversation with him…” He shrugged. “Whatever though.”

He would get over it. Fatalé had taught him a great deal anyway. He wasn’t planning on leaving the Lagoon any time soon anyway. He shivered a bit. His ears pricked when Psych talked about Tinuvel.

“No,” he said. “I haven’t been. Actually, I haven’t been off the Crossing. Mother doesn’t like to swim far. Says that she doesn’t like the way the water makes her coat look.” Fatalé was vain like that. “I’ve kinda just been lurking around the Meadow and the Lagoon. It’s boring. I met this one girl in the Meadow though. She was pretty fun, little weird though.” Maybe she was still somewhere on the Crossing. He wondered what creatures lurked in the snow. She would know probably.

Psych didn’t know what his name meant. Well, maybe it was made up! In that case, well it didn’t matter too much. Parents were weird, he supposed.

“My name means lion,” Léon said, somewhat proudly. “I…don’t know why Mother named me that. She said I had a fuzzy mane when I was born and it reminded her of one.” He shrugged. “My mother’s name is Fatalé. She told me it meant ‘deadly’ in her native tongue. She also told me that her mother had a… ‘deranged’ sense of humor. I don’t know what that means…” He had asked Fatalé about her name shortly after his meeting with Geridriful. She had not been too forthcoming with information.

Then again, Léon knew his mother never was the kind.
