Almost as soon as the stallion moved back, clearly refusing to rise to her challenge, Maji also took a shuffling step to the side, easing off the pressure - and just like that the aggression vanished from her body. She surveyed him from cold eyes, head low and relaxed. As far as Maji was concerned her brief explosion was over and forgotten, as was Tarrant’s original greeting. Everything was settled now. This stallion would not hinder her and so he was not important. She would keep his scent in the back of her mind, logged away for future reference, but all else could be forgotten if she wished it.
Maji’s ears tipped forward as Tarrant moved out of her path, the only betrayal of her eagerness. Her eyes darted from the palomino to her unblocked way, muscles tencing slightly as she sighted her escape. The seal bay mare barely gave him a passing glance as she swept past him, tail flagging out behind her. The soft earth gave way beneath the points of her hooves, and a nicker escaped pink lips as she greeted it.
Just like that Maji was swallowed by the jungle - a faint rustling of leaves and the salty musk of her scent the only indication she was ever there.
