LAUGHING about it was the spotted boy's only real option; Elexzra didn't find his words funny but he hadn't expected her to. If he'd found her before she had the filly, they probably wouldn't be having a conversation at all. His light-hearted compliment only earned him the venom of her sarcasm and his ears flicked to a fro nervously, too exhausted to explain himself. "Of course she is" he said quietly with a proud grin and speaking more to the foal than Elexzra. "Amity" He repeated the name softly when Elexzra told him, trying it out on his tongue. "Does it mean something?" A lot of names did, he was curious.

WHEN the filly rubbed the sand off on her mother's leg, the bald faced boy smiled, remembering when he had been young and annoying to his dam - doing things he shouldn't. That was just the way of foals though. However, if she didn't like to get dirty, she obviously didn't take that from her sire - even now he'd happily roll in a pile of mud. Well, maybe once he'd healed he would.

He chuckled at her joke, somewhat surprised to hear her make one - even if it was a little bit of a threat. Unfortunately, the mood soured when he asked about how she had been getting on in the bay but there would be no dancing around it forever. A joke about finding a black horse in a blizzard popped into his head but he ultimately bit his tongue. He was surprised that she had spoken with Soljor and wondered how that conversation might have gone. He smiled at her joke and might have even chuckled if not for the cold wind that was doing little for his wounds while standing still so long. "I don't doubt it"

CLENCHING his jaw against the chilled breeze his blue eyes travelled to Amity who was feeding. It was obvious from the moment he'd arrived that she wasn't long born and it suddenly occurred to him that they probably hadn't had much of a rest yet, let alone gotten away from the birth site. His gaze travelled off the more sheltered pines to the right and behind him before looking back to Elexzra. "The two of you must be needing a rest by now, why don't we move over to the thicket and I'll stand guard? he offered. While he wasn't exactly fighting fit, he fancied that he could take on any predators that might try their luck....or at the very least stall them while Elexzra and Amity escaped.
