The first thing Kodiak noticed about the morning was how soundly his mother and sister slept. Now Kodi had never done anything bad, till now. Maybe Luana had rubbed off on him, seeing as how he was quickly up on his long legs and sneaking away like she had always done. No one seemed to take notice of the little foal frolicking about on the edges of the herd. It felt good to get some freedom, he thinks, sinking to his knees and then rolling in the dew covered grass.

With his coat damp he rises to his hooves, looking over his shoulder to see his mother rousing. With wide eyes he takes off in the opposite direction, hoping Acelynn hadn't spotted her runaway child. He was giggling all the way as he rounded around the herd, kicking up the grass as he went. He was a spirited thing when no one was looking.

When he felt he was far enough from his mother he finally stops and looks around. There wasn't really anything up and about at this moment except the birds in the trees. Kodi was feeling lonely until his eyes caught a familiar form.

"Daddy!," he cried out, charging off toward the stallion.
