Oh he knows that she would try to put up a fight if he took what he wanted. Enderly was fairly certain even with her own sly ways he would have just as good of a chance of getting her down as she would of stopping him. They were both clever schemers and wily tongued devils. It is her coy demeanor that draws him in. Yet even as his desire attempts to overshadow everything Enderly begins to remember. Remember how this same desire had taken his self control and left him at the beck and call of Naamah. How she had nurtured it with her own passion and then, when he had given more than he could ever give, she had turned him away in favor of another. No. Eris may believe that Enderly will do as she bids, and for a time he might, but it will all twist around in some way to her needing him. If that is the route he chooses to go. After this maybe he won't even see her again. Who knew?
She matches him word for word with flourish. Eris is indeed seductive and beautifl but Enderly has been faced with this same thing before. Even as his desire cools into intellect he feels a snarl wishing to rip from him. In time he would make her come to him. Ceal was his soul, yes, but there is something addicting in the ways of Eris. Familiar. An addiction he can't quite kick but wants to control. Let them manipulate each other - give and take and rule and submit. What a game this will be.
"Ah, then it is a lucky thing my life is still long yet to remember such beauty," he replies, pushing down his need to frighten her, and instead reverting back to the same suave manenrs as before. Her words cause him to grin, broad, though his eyes flash dangerously at her tempting words. "What makes you think I can't?" Turn the question back around on her. She moves her muzzle now so that she whisperes in his ear, winking at him, a smooth talker.
For a moment he holds her glowing eyes with his own and then just as abruptly, while the tension builds and builds, he steps away form her dismissivly, casting his gaze away as if she is nothing. "Oh well, perhaps the goddess is not worthy of my devotion. There will be others I'm sure, do not wait around for me." There is a dry note in his voice, a cunning ploy to see whether she has had enough of his presence, and as he moves away from her he flicks his tail out so that it will lash her in the face. Cruel it may seem yet he cannot make her come after him with silken words only. That had been his last fault with Naamah.
Enderly wanders around the boulder she left from, his nose sniffing as if searching for prey. He can hear the twitters of mice somewhere around there. What would Eris think now, now that he has so thoroughly dismissed her.
