While Rhae and Iblis' home lay within the heart of the packland, within the very meadows the Queen adored, she had spent much of the last weeks deep within the heart of the bay. It was a wonderous place, one full of endless fields and meadows only to abruptly be cut off by the immense ocean that lay ahead. The bay had cut its niche into the land quite nicely, and wrapped almost completely around the water but not quite so. Off in the distance, bright, ever intense teal eyes take in the opening that lead out to deeper and colder waters. It was a curious thing, to contemplate those open waters and just how far, and how deep, they truly went. Rhae would never know, but it was still something she could always think about and ponder. Perhaps it was her childrens slight absence, or the absence of her mate that brought the large, mostly pale female to this place. Typically she would have been near and around her home, with the rest of her family, the pack Iblis had decided he would gather and be at the head of. But without him here, it was almost enough to send her back to the no mans land from which they came. But the older female knew better than that, and she knew she had a duty and a promise to fulfill for her pack members, her family, and her mate. Thus she remained, and though might have reclused for a time, there was a confidence in her step as she made her way along the shore line, headed no where in particular. There wasn't a particular job to be done this day, beside simply to check on others and the land itself. Patrolling was a thing that came naturally to her- she had been born the direct underlings of the Alphas of her old pack, and she knew well all the duties and responsibilities of a true leader. And on this day, an unknown scent met her senses as she continued forward, and her large paws pivoted to head to the place where it came from. The wolf scent was tinged with the sea, and while almost every pack did have a border along the sea, there was one pack in particular that was renound for it. And because there was no dank, musky scent of the bogs and marshes that came with Iromar, the wolf could only be one of Glorall. And though Rhae had never been to the land herself, there was something about her scent that seemed important, perhaps the offspring of the leaders, for she was far too young to be one herself. Then again, she was but a year older than Lucero, her middle child, and already he was aspiring to be Asteraia's Prince. The thought of her son had a mild and warm smile caressing her handsome features, but her attention was where it should be, on the girl before her who she would greet warmly and with respect, as it simply was her way. "Hello, friend from Glorall. I am Rhae, Queen of Asteraia, mate to Iblis, and the only Alpha while he is away. What brings a seawolf such as yourself to my meadow home?" Genuine curiosity and warmth laced her slightly masculine voice. While there were wolves who used politeness and friendliness to their advantage and played on it, such was not the case with Rhae. It was simply in her nature to be concerned, to be curious, to be protective, loving, caring. She was a gentle giant in all means of the term, her bulky weight and taller stature though warm and soft teal eyes gave away the fact rather well. A smile is adorning her features as she watches the young other, curious to just who she might be, why she was here, but it would all come with time, and if anything, Rhae was a master of just that. Patience came well to her, and to show her good intentions and relaxed and comfortable nature, the large female reclined back upon her haunches to make herself more at home, just incase the female wished to stay and talk with her. She could very well just be in passing, but Rhae hoped she might still remain a moment and share her thoughts and young wisdom with her. Wisdom, whether young or old or new or outdated, was a valuable thing and something Rhae would always make time for and have time for. Such was the way of not many a wolf any longer, but such was the way of the Alpha's of Asteraia and all their kin. |
