. CHARITABLE ADVERTISING on Web Site
There are many worthwhile charitable causes in existence, but we can only accept sponsorship or fundraising efforts on Fusilier Association websites, that specifically support approved Fusilier charities.
This essentially means that it is acceptable to use these pages to seek sponsorship for The Fusiliers Aid Society (which includes Fallen Fusiliers), and The Fusilier Memorial fund only.
We now have our own dedicated justgiving site (http://www.justgiving.com/fusiliersaidsociety), which you can use to help raise money for your cause. If you let RHQ (Asst Regt Sec) know the specific cause you are raising money for, it will be directed to the correct fund.
Messages soliciting sponsorship for causes or charities other than the Fusilier ones mentioned above should not be placed on the message board and may be removed by the Webmaster.

PRESENTATION OF NEW COLOURS TO THE 5th BATTALION THE ROYAL REGIMENT OF FUSILIERS – LAYING UP OF THE 5th and 6th BATTALION COLOURS – FUSILIER GATHERING – 2 MAY 2015
The 5th Battalion the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers will be presented New Colours at 1130 hours, 2 May 2015 at Alnwick Castle. A VIP reception will take place prior to the Colours Parade in Alnwick Castle Guest Hall which will be by invitation only.
The old Colours of the 5th Battalion and 6th Battalion will be laid up in St Michaels Church Alnwick, directly following the New Colours Parade. On the evening of 2 May it is intended to hold a Fusilier Gathering in the Assembly Rooms, Newcastle.
This is obviously a very special occasion for the Battalion and the Regiment and requires the full support of all Fusiliers, whether serving or retired. Our aim should be to have a thousand Hackles in the crowd at the Colours parade as testament to the strength and unity of the Fusiliers in the North East. Similarly, we should aim to fill the Assembly Rooms in the evening.
Requests for tickets, as detailed below, should be made as a matter of priority to secure a place at the Alnwick Parade, Church Service and at the Gathering.

There are 60 hotel rooms reserved in the Hotel Indigo which is next to The Assembly Rooms, at a special rate of £109 sole or double occupancy including bed & breakfast. Thirty of these rooms will be lost for booking after 5 January 2015 and the remainder will be released for public use after 16 February 2015.
